Introduction

The Laboratory of Atmospheric Electricity is a Portuguese Research Facility installed in the University of Évora and part of the research activity of the National Institute of Earth Sciences. It complements the measurements done by the Atmospheric Physics Observatory of this Institute with measurements of the Atmospheric Electric Field, mainly. It is a recent facility mostly composed by young researcher with a very dynamic publication activity. The research lines are chiefly comprised by:

  • The atmospheric electric field and its relation with pollutant aerosols;
  • Tracer gases and the atmospheric electric field;
  • Impact of natural and artificial radioactivity in the atmospheric electric field;
  • The atmospheric electric field and seismicity;
  • Understanding particle electrification and its possible technological uses;
  • Space-Earth weather interactions.

It integrates two proposals to form a European network on Atmospheric Electricity.
